Russian invasion of Ukraine

On February 24, 2022, under Vladimir Putin's orders, Russia launched a brutal invasion of Ukraine, plunging the nation into war. The international community condemned this act of aggression, imposing severe sanctions on Russia while protests erupted worldwide in solidarity with Ukraine.

Despite facing overwhelming odds, the Ukrainian people stood united in defence of their homeland, displaying extraordinary courage and resilience.

This tragic day marked the start of a devastating conflict that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, leaving countless families grieving and sparking a profound humanitarian crisis.

Ukraine's resilience stands as a powerful symbol against tyranny.

Russian forces have been deliberately targeting and bombarding essential infrastructure in Ukraine as part of their military strategy. 

  • Over 14 million people have been forced to flee their homes.

  • 6.3 million refugees have sought safety abroad.

  • 3.7 million individuals are internally displaced within Ukraine.

  • 1,218 healthcare facilities have been damaged.

  • 540 hospitals are partially destroyed, with 173 completely ruined.

  • Over 3,790 educational facilities have been damaged or destroyed.

  • 14.6 million people - 40% of Ukraine’s population - require urgent humanitarian assistance.

  • War veterans striving to rebuild their lives after suffering life-changing injuries.

  • Orphanages and local social institutions dedicated to helping orphans and children who have lost their families to war.

  • Grieving families who have lost loved ones to the war and faced the devastation of having their homes destroyed by Russian bombings, leaving them displaced and in desperate need of support.
